Be captivated by an utterly magical experience with the Chilliwack Cultural Centre's Classical Music Series. These intimate mornings of classical music will begin with complimentary coffee, tea, and delicious baked treats before patrons settle down to enjoy the joyous and uplifting sounds of fantastic classical musicians. Hosted by Sarah, the Classical Music Series brings a collection of virtuoso musicians in to the Cultural Centre to duet with a figure that has been named “the rising star of Canadian classical music”. Beginning the 2014/15 series with a soothing tone will be the award-winning Polish flutist Krysztof Kaczka, the solo flutist of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, and a regular chamber performer that has been heard from North America to South-East Asia and Australia.

About Krzysztof Kaczka
Born in Torun, Poland, Kaczka made his New York debut at the Carnegie Recital Hall as the IBLA Grand Prize winner. As first prize winner at the Australian Flute Festival and Competition in Adelaide, he was praised by jury chairman Jean Ferrandies for his "beautiful sound, high technical skills, and great understanding of the style of the music he played.”
Krzysztof has taken part in numerous music festivals and has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the USA’s Carnegie Hall (NYC), Herkulessaal der Residenz Munich, Gasteig, Wellington Town Hall, Hobart City Hall (Tasmania), New York University, Verbrugghen Hall in Sydney, Polish Embassy in Washington DC, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Paris and Rome.
Kaczka has studied at the Musikhochschule Munich, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and at the Conservatoire de Paris. He is a laureate of the prestigious Young Poland Award of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Poland in Warsaw and has released four CDs for the Acte Prealabe Label.
As principal flautist of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Kaczka has performed with Krzysztof Penderecki, Stephane Denéve, Maxim Vengerov, Yo Yo Ma, Lang Lang, Sarah Chang and Midori, among others.
