Lauded clarinetist Keith MacLeod joins Sarah for an afternoon of favourite chamber works for clarinet and piano. The pair have been playing together for over 20 years and are delighted to be bringing their musical pairing to Victoria. On the programme will be Poulenc’s zesty Clarinet Sonata, Debussy’s exhilarating First Rhapsody, and Brahms’ passionate Sonata in F Minor.
Join Keith and Sarah on Sunday afternoon at 2pm at St Mary’s in Oak Bay. Tickets will be on sale soon!
At the age of 17, Keith MacLeod started his career working with Dame Joan Sutherland and Sir Richard Bonynge. His love affair with opera spanned his entire 50 years playing in orchestras internationally. During the last 40 of those years, he was Principal Clarinet of the Victoria Symphony. Keith has performed under some of the truly great conductors from around the world, as well as some of the worst!
Now retired from orchestra life (and tired of the lesser conductors), Keith pursues his recital and chamber music passions with friends both near and far. He has been noted for his big resonant sound and sensitive phrasing by audiences and fellow professionals throughout his entire career.
As a Yamaha artist, Keith has given master classes as far abroad as Spain and Louisiana. He continues to teach privately and occasionally gives master classes at the Victoria Conservatory and University of Victoria.
